THE GREAT EXPERIMENT

Calvary Chapel's small groups are based on a simple idea. The idea is not original to us. We learned of it from watching a video about a small group of student at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY who this idea in their Fall Semester way back in 1969. They called it, "The Great Experiment." For 30 days, each student agreed to set his / her alarm 30 minutes earlier, and start the day seeking God in prayer and Bible reading. And, once a week, they would meet talk about their experiences and what God was showing them in His Word. After the first 30 days, they would seek to get others involved. To find out what happened, check out the video link below. Our small groups now follow this format, except that the number need not be six.
